Planact supported in capacity building workshops in the following areas:

• Springvalley
• Thembelihle
• Protea South

These workshops, were inclusive of negotiations skills with the municipality, organizational management, leadership, organizing and community mobilizations skills etc. This resulted in the informal settlements being able to manage their organization effectively. Each informal settlement participated in several skills transfer activities organized by Planact, such as the participatory budgeting process, social audit methodologies, community based planning etc. With the support from Planact, shack numbering and enumeration was conducted for each settlement. The information that was gathered was then used to engage with municipality for further discussion with the delivery of basic services.
