The six founding communities that have pledged to collaborate in amplifying the voices of informal settlements for better living conditions in Rustenburg Local Municipality are Tshenolong, Enkanini, Paardekraal-Plot 14, Boitekong Ext 2, Boitekong Ext 14, and Damooi.
Recognising the greater safety and security needs of the wider community, they took it upon themselves to go beyond their official duties and protect a vital resource located in a nearby formal area: the last FNB ATM.
Communities have united on common issues and formed “clusters” to collectively advocate improved community participation in local governance processes.
