Yesterday, the Planact team stepped into the shoes of first-time property owners

The team was part of a Contractor Project Feasibility Simulation Training by Avo Vision in partnership with TUHF Capital. TUHF is a commercial property finance company that provides access to funding for entrepreneurs from all walks of life.

The simulation brought the whole construction process to life — from design options and expected costs, to loan amounts, terms, monthly expenses, and assessing whether the rental business would generate a profit. This simulation is a build-up for the contractor/developer training Planact has been running for three years. The training placed the team in the role of clients interested to enter the rental housing market with little or no construction knowledge. Their task was to decide on rental development, obtain quotes, choose the best contractor/developer, analyse costs, assess funding needs, and test project feasibility.

This is a great opportunity for the contractors/developers that are keen to enter the small-scale rental development sector, but with little to no experience in construction, which is a core part of Planact’s sustainable livelihoods and neighbourhood development initiative.
